How do we approach GIF presentation of object bigger than the jewellery piece, for example the chair or the piece of any machinery?
Here is the procedure:
1. Lighting set up. Use disperse light (multiple sources of light), so the light can reach every part of the object. If the object has shiny metallic, or parts made of mirrors, you need to use light modifiers, like white screens around the object.
2. Place the object on a rotating table. You can turn the table with the object either by hand or by the motor.
3. Every time you take a picture you rotate the table by the same angle. I used 30 degrees x 12 to obtain a 360 degrees coverage from different angles. Of course the higher number of shots (example you shoot the object rotating it every time by 20 degrees) the smoother the presentation will be obtained.
Keep in mind - you'll need to edit each individual picture.
4. Merge all individual images to get a GIF file.
