I just finished the project in Toronto that requires perfect color accuracy.
It consists of samples as seen below.
You need to catch the color and the pattern of small samples of the laminate perfectly because discrepancies between the color of the object and the photograph are not acceptable. These images go to the manufacturer and based on it the production will start, so detail is everything.
MY RECOMMENDATIONS TO HELP CORRECTLY CAPTURE COLOR & DETAIL
I definitely recommend using any type of color checker tool. The price ranges between $30 and $200 depending on the manufacturer and model.
I also strongly recommend using a color checker that comes with the software to create a custom profile for the lens, the camera, and for the given lighting conditions. A custom profile can be used later on if you'll be shooting with the same lighting condition.
This system will considerably speed up workflow in batch volume processing.
For event and studio portrait shooting you just need to have the model hold it for a reference to catch the skin tone.
Shooting RAW gives you more flexibility in color correction than JPEG.
Absolutely needed for Lightroom users
