Colour adjustments in product photography - how to deal with the colour adjustments?
Here are two screens in one shot: TV and laptop.
The laptop has been connected with the HDMI cable to the TV, so both of them show the same image.
I chose a black and white documentary movie. Which screen shows a real black and white?
The answer is: None of them.
To prove it, I de-saturated the right part of the combined image and now it shows only blacks and whites. Compare left and right version to see the difference.
Now I would like to address this information to the professional product photographers:
Make sure that you calibrate your screen every two weeks. Does it mean that the client will be 100% satisfied?
Well...you need to ask the client if he/she uses calibrating tool to get the real colours on his/hers monitor.
So, the point is: EVERY MONITOR OR TV SHOWS THE COLORS DIFFERENTLY.
In my next blog post I'll answer the next client's question: Why the shot I took with my cell phone show the same colors as the ones of the object?
